Week Four

April 122nd through the 28th

Week four featured another influential activist – Chase Stangio. An individual helping to make leaps and bounds for the L.G.B.T. community, fighting tooth and nail for Trans rights, and creating a Community Fund with the aim of providing bail and bond assistance to trans immigrants.

“I absolutely do not accept the instance that my trans body is grotesque and dangerous or that my healthcare is unnecessary or that I should simply not go to the bathroom. If challenging those narratives costs us elections, then those are elections I will gladly lose.”

While putting this list together, I knew that I wanted to represent the queer community. Being a part of this community has shaped my life so including someone who has been so influential to L.G.B.T. rights was a necessity for me. Chase has done such amazing work and I admire his passion.

“The law itself does not in any way have the nuance to capture peoples multitudes–that’s one of its limitations.”
